from the book's forward by John Gray

Over the years, I’ve had the oportunity to experience many things. The most rewarding and fulfilling of all those experiences were the ones I was “Ready” for, to actually engage in and be a part of…

I think about those experiences that were less than fulfilling and I remember being caught off-guard, unaware, or totally surprised. Had I been prepared, things would have been different. Better as a matter of fact. Don’t get me wrong, a surprise is nice, but I believe in being “Surprise Ready”.
I’ll explain as we go along.

As we go through life, everyday brings something our way. Some good, some bad. If we are prepared ( “Ready” ) to face “life”, all that comes our way can be embraced and used as an opportunity for growth or developing.
This is what I call …”Ready”…

I remember gaining an awareness of being “Ready” while I was in the military. That’s when it first dawned on me to be “Ready”. In the military we had to be ORI Ready ( Operational Ready Inspection ), we had to be Deployment Ready ( prepared to be sent anywhere in the world at a monuments' notice ), we had to be ready, prepared, able to perform all the time. To not be “Ready” meant something didn’t get done. Something got missed. A breakdown occurred. The severity could range from, no big deal to loss of life. That’s when I started thinking about being “Ready”. For too long I only got “Ready” for the big stuff, the really important stuff. Only now do I realize how important it is to be “Ready” for everything. From the big to the small. From the good to the bad. From the fun to the sad.

Yes indeed, life would have been much better had I always been “Ready”. Thus the reason for this book. To help the World become “Ready”.
